Grew up a small town country kid. Hunting, fishing, canoeing and hiking were my athletic building blocks . I attended Shepaug Valley High School and played soccer, basketball and baseball. College years were in West Virginia at Davis & Elkins college. I played division two baseball for the Senators as a pitcher. Post college I found it difficult to find sports that provided that competitive feel. I knew I needed that adrenaline in my life. I tried a paddle board rental on a trip to Puerto Rico in 2013. Upon returning, I found that there were options to race paddle boards. From that moment on, I was hooked. I had found a sport that allows me to be outside in nature, constantly improving my overall fitness and provide that white knuckle action I thrive on.
